Abu Dhabi Grand Prix 2026: The Yas Island Visitor Guide

The 2026 Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix takes place from November 28 to December 8, 2026, with the main race on the final Sunday. The event runs at Yas Marina Circuit, a five-minute walk from Casa Duna in Water's Edge.

This is the season finale of the F1 calendar and one of the most attended sporting events of the year in the UAE. Hotels and apartments around Yas Island are typically fully booked 4–6 months in advance, with prices 2–4x higher than off-season rates.

WHY STAY ON YAS ISLAND FOR F1 WEEKEND

Most visitors don't realise how walkable race weekend is when you stay on the island itself. From a Water's Edge apartment you can walk to Yas Marina Circuit in about five minutes, walk to Etihad Arena for the Yasalam after-race concerts, avoid race-day traffic entirely, get back home for an afternoon nap between qualifying and concerts, and use the Yas Bay and Yas Marina restaurants in the evening without taxi queues.

If you're driving in from Dubai or staying in Abu Dhabi city, expect 60–90 minute taxi queues after the race finishes. It's not a small inconvenience — it's the reason most repeat F1 attendees switch to staying on Yas Island after their first time.

WHAT'S INCLUDED WITH A YASALAM CONCERT TICKET

Yasalam After-Race Concerts are free with a Grand Prix ticket. Past lineups have included Eminem, Bruno Mars, Coldplay and Drake. The 2026 lineup is announced by Yas Island closer to the event — usually August or September. Concerts run on multiple nights through race weekend.

WHAT TO DO ON NON-RACE DAYS

Friday — Free Practice 1 and 2. Lower-energy crowd, easier to walk around the paddock area.

Saturday — Free Practice 3 and Qualifying. Qualifying is where the grid order is set; the track is busiest in the late afternoon.

Theme parks — Ferrari World, Yas Waterworld and Warner Bros. World are all open during F1 week. Multi-park combo tickets save 30–40% over single tickets.

Yas Bay nightlife — the boardwalk has expanded significantly. Live music, food trucks, and rooftop venues operate late into race week.
