Yas Island Restaurants: Eat Well Without Overpaying 2026

Yas Island has more places to eat than most people realise, and the gap between a good-value meal and an overpriced one is usually about fifty metres. After enough seasons of hosting here you stop reading menus and start knowing rooms.

First, the offer everyone advertises is not yours

You will see Kids Go Free on posters all over the island. It is real. One child aged 11 or under stays, eats and plays free for every booked adult, and it runs for stay dates from 10 April to 31 October 2026.

The part the poster leaves out: it hangs off a hotel room bought through yasisland.ae at a participating hotel. If you are in an apartment, it is not yours to use.

Your saving is a different one, and it is bigger: two meals a day out of your own kitchen, and one meal out that everybody looks forward to. Everything below is built for that one meal.

Cheapest for a family: Yas Food Hall

Ground floor of Yas Mall, open 10am to 10pm Sunday to Thursday and until midnight Friday and Saturday. Everyone picks their own thing, you see the bill before you commit, and the room is air conditioned, which in August decides more than the menu does.

Two counters in there are better than they need to be. SLRP Ramen and Rolls Bar by 3 Fils does proper ramen, yakitori and wagyu sandos for food-hall money. Recco is Italian, named after the town on the Ligurian coast that is famous for its focaccia, and the focaccia is the thing to order.

Best Lebanese for the money, and one thing about the room

Automatic Restaurant and Cafeteria, first floor at Yas Mall, in the food court. Generous, consistent, and there is something plain on the menu for the fussiest child at the table. Order mezze-heavy, hummus, moutabel, fattoush, plenty of bread, and one mixed grill to share instead of a main each. You eat better and pay less.

Worth being straight about, because this page had it wrong for two months: it is a food-court counter, not a dining room with a waiter. If the evening calls for a proper Lebanese table, that is Bushra at Yas Bay, and it is a night out rather than a cheap dinner.

The brunch you can actually book

El Brunch at Amerigos. Saturdays, 12:30pm to 4pm, from AED 169 a head, Mexican, table service, booked through Aldar Experiences.

One warning that will save you a wrong turn at the door. The booking page still calls the hotel Park Inn by Radisson. Yas Island’s own hotel list does not carry that name any more: four hotels in that cluster now trade as Yas Plaza Marina, Circuit, Mangroves and Bay by IHG, and nobody has published which one used to be which. Go by the restaurant name, not the hotel name.

And the rule that applies to every hotel brunch here: they run one day a week. Confirm the day when you book, not on the drive over.

Sit-down without the splurge

Al Fanar Restaurant and Cafe at The Fountains, Yas Mall, does Emirati food in a room built to look like old Dubai. It is the closest thing to a cultural stop you can do over lunch. Asha’s, also in the mall, covers North Indian that works for the vegetarians and the meat-eaters at one table.

Most romantic: a waterfront table at Yas Bay

Asia Asia is the showpiece: big room, Gulf views, plates that arrive with a bit of theatre. Bua Thai is quieter and just as good for two. Hunter and Barrel if the evening is really about the steak.

In summer, book the late seating once the heat has dropped, or take an indoor table facing the water. You do not need the most expensive room on the island for the atmosphere. You need the right hour and a view of the water.

Eat your big meal at lunch when you can. Sit-down restaurants are calmer and the midday value is often better.
